In the early 1990’s we specialized in modifications to improve the performance of suspension for dirt bikes. Break away friction in the telescoping front forks was a big concern to achieve the goals we wanted to obtain. This is when we started experimenting with all kinds of grease and lubricants. Today we are blending and packaging our grease product for you.
Since we enjoy innovative mechanical design we have a complete machine shop with some CNC capabilities. We take concept to reality with working prototypes. In the mid 1990’s we developed a bicycle shock that used air pressure as the damping medium and then turned it over to companies that were set up for mass production. Obviously these air shocks depended totally on Slickoleum for smooth action and a dependable lubricant for the seals and shock piston cylinder. All of the production shocks used O-rings for the air seal with great success.
The Slickoleum story is covered fairly well on our home page but we would like to clarify the question, is Slickoleum the same as Slick Honey? Yes, but let me explain. When we were designing bicycle shocks the company we were working with was selling our grease and they come up with a name and pursued a trademark which happened to be Slick Honey (Buzzys Slick Honey bike grease) and Shock Nectar (Fork and Shock Oil). Quality Bicycle Products purchased this trademark. www.qbp.com QBP controls world wide distribution for the bicycle enthusiasts. QBP does a great job and we have a great working relationship with them. We have a deal set up with QBP were we sell Slick Honey direct to the paintball enthusiasts via www.slickhoneyusa.com . Our own brand name Slickoleum is geared to all other industries imaginable and not just bicycle related grease. We supply Slickoleum to several OEM companies (original equipment manufacture) which is mostly shock manufactures but Slickoleum is used in several different applications and industries that is in need of a unique grease product.
